TAWA is an exceedingly inspiring game for arranging and stacking building blocks. It consists of 16 unusual angular wooden blocks with which one can make an unlimited number of amazing formations and patterns. The game is just one of many creations of the product designer, Christian Spiess. But certainly one of the most important, because the Naef game company added TAWA to its product assortment.
The game doesn’t just help children think in new dimensions, but adults too – it doesn’t set any boundaries.
TAWA blocks don’t have six sides, but ten instead. No matter how the blocks are placed, their height is always 45 mm. This allows unlimited combination possibilities. TAWA inspires you to build towers, take them down again, make patterns, make chaotic stacks or to combine the blocks with other objects. TAWA doesn’t just help children think in new dimensions, but adults too – it doesn’t set any boundaries. The possibilities are virtually limitless.
But Christian Spiess hardly limits himself to the development of wooden toys. Clever shelf systems are just as at home in his portfolio as asymmetric bricks for unusual house façades. Currently he is collaborating with a befriended top athlete to produce a new kind of fitness device. On the side he does planning for entire office spaces for firms, complete with the development of the furniture systems.
