Sabine Portenier runs the firm Suburban Collective, which is active in the areas of fashion design, interior design and interior architecture. In addition, Sabine manages the IDM sewing works, a production site and vocational school for textiles. Past positions at HUGO in Germany and Didier & Angelo in Paris played a key role in shaping her present work. Sabine combines traditional craftsmanship with economically and ecologically responsible product development and local production. This has won her considerable acclaim in the scene. Among others she has twice won the Swiss Federal Design Award [Eidgenössischen Preis für Design] and was distinguished with the Golden Rabbit [Goldener Hase] of the architecture magazine, Hochparterre.
