Roskilde Festival is the largest music and arts festival in Northern Europe. It’s also one of the oldest, dating back to 1971. Roskilde Festival Charity Society is the organizer of Roskilde Festival. The purpose of the society is to support initiatives benefitting children and young people and to support humanitarian and cultural work. The society’s work is independent of party politics and has no geographical borders.

Roskilde Festival works from a holistic understanding of sustainability, which embraces the environment, social responsibility, art and culture – because they believe that is what is needed to make a true difference. For Roskilde Festival, sustainability is about connecting and balancing environmental and social aspects when we create and change the world.

Here is your chance to be selected among the world’s best startups and test your product at Roskilde Festival in July 2020!

It is all about your sustainable innovation! Roskilde Festival collaborates with startups whose main purpose is sustainability. The challenge is for anyone who has developed a new and exciting product or service that will make the world better. 

• The environmental part covers resource consumption and emission, e.g. procurement, water and electricity.
• The social part is about ethical, social and interhuman relations. It could be about ensuring safety, equality and justice for people.

The following criteria are used to evaluate the applications:

• The startup must create innovation in a sustainable way, either environmentally, socially or both.
• The startup must provide new and innovative ways on how the world understands sustainability.
• The startup must have the potential to offer its solution in a large-scale during Roskilde Festival 2020 in Roskilde, Denmark.
