JACOBY moebel: Pop-up Store in Zürich Wipkingen

A Basel resident in Zurich, active in the newly founded district association waiting room, helps us to set up our first shop in Zurich. The desire to show our work in our own brick and mortar store has been incubating for a while. Throughout March and until April 3, we are staying in the former ticket counter, which has been converted into a living room and bedroom, in the Wipkingen train station in the heart of Zurich.

The waiting room is to be reinvented as an “incubator for resource-saving, sustainable initiatives at the neighborhood level,” writes the association on its website. Since the coexistence of commercial and cultural uses can be very inspiring, they want to promote this. We made a second set of exhibition furniture in a hurry, and we are currently living on site in Zurich from Wednesday to Saturday. This way, we can offer our third-year apprentice, who happens to know a lot about different types of construction and wood, an opportunity to learn about sales and consultation, as well. But mums and siblings are also important helpers and without their commitment we would be lost.
